A discussion took place in Da Nang on Thursday afternoon about the progress of the specialised fashion goods shopping area project along a section of Le Duan Street, between its intersections with Tran Phu and Ong Ich Khiem streets.
This shopping area will be officially opened on 25 December.
The Secretary of the Hai Chau District Party Committee, Mr Dang Viet Dung, urged the project’s management board and its construction units to speed up the replacement of overhead power and telecommunications cables with underground ones. Importance is also being attached to installing lighting systems and pre-cast terrazzo tiling on the pavements along the section, as well as replacing the existing trees with Madagascar almonds. The above-mentioned work is required to be completed, as scheduled, no later than 15 December.
Secretary Dung also stressed the need to encourage traders along the section to decorate the insides and fronts of their shops, ensure sufficient supplies of goods for their consumers, and provide training courses in sales and customer service skills for their employees. In addition, he asked the district’s authorities and other local relevant agencies to widely publicise this new shopping area, as well as ensure close links with local travel agencies in order to bring tourists to visit the area.
